I would like to start by welcoming two new full time members of staff – Deena Aiken and James McNally.
Our new Business Development Manager, Deena, used to teach swimming in her native Queensland, Australia. As well as swimming Deena has experience coaching rugby, hockey, basketball cricket, multi-skills and more. Deena’s enthusiasm, knowledge and experience make her a great asset to the Play Sport Coaching team.
James is a well known professional tennis coach who has been working out of Bowerham Tennis Club for the last few years coaching the Lancaster tennis stars of the future. Not only this, he also has a background in Business Marketing. James is our new Business Development/Marketing Manager. Not only is James top notch tennis coach but he also coach’s football and multi-skills. James has stepped up from our part time staff and with his business marketing knowledge and coaching credentials, I am delighted to have him on board, he adds another dimension to our company.
Unfortunately, we have said goodbye to Ronan McMahon who left Play Sport at the end of summer term. Ronan is a quality sports coach and will be an asset to whoever he works for. I just wanted to say thank you very much and wish you good luck for all future endeavours.
We hope you had a great summer, we did. Play Sport was delivering fun, quality sports coaching sessions throughout Lancashire and Cumbria. Here is a run down of where we were working at.
- We hosted 2 summer coaching camps at Ripley High School and Carnforth High School, Deena and James taught the kids New Ages Sports as well as a tot’s programme.
- I coached football and cricket to the brilliant kids at the National Deaf Children Society Fun Day.
- I co-ordinated the Lakes School Summer Camp. Here the young leaders from the schools 6th Form coached the children as I helped out. I had been in previously to take the young leaders on a 2 day training scheme where I taught them how to be safe and fun.
- We finished the summer with the Our Lady’s Activity Week; we coached the kid’s multi-skills for three days of the week.
Thanks to all the venues and staff, plus the 500+ children we coached over the summer break, I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.
